How do I register for an author talk?
Author Talks are provided by your library through a special website. These Author Talks are available live to register and watch from the comfort of your own home. You can also watch recordings of the Author Talks at a later time. You can find a step by step guide to registration at this link: Where do I find the link to watch the talk?
After you have registered for the author talk, you will receive an email confirming your registration. The link to watch the live talk is in this email. You can also save the talk to your google calendar at the time of registration or through the link in your confirmation email and the calendar event will contain a link to view the talk as well.
Will the talk be recorded?
Yes! If you cannot watch the talk live, you can come back and watch the recording afterwards. The recording of each talk will be posted 24 hours after the live event is complete. To view the recordings, go to the author talks page for your library and scroll to the bottom to choose “View all recordings”. You can find a list of participating libraries [at this link](https://libraryc.org/members).
Do I need to register for the talk?
If you would like to view the talk live or submit a question to the author, you will need to register for the author talk ahead of time. If you cannot attend the talk live, you can still register to submit a question, and a link to the recording will be emailed to you the day after the talk is complete.
Am I going to get a lot of emails after I register?
You will get one email to confirm your registration with a link to the event, a second email as a reminder the day before the talk with a link to the event, and a third email the day after the talk with a link to the recording. After that, you will only get a seasonal email with a list of upcoming talks and registration links, which you can unsubscribe from at any time.
Will there be Closed Captioning for the live author talk?
There is an option for Closed Captioning with all of our live-streamed author talks (as well as in their replays). Once the author talk has begun, look for the CC icon on the bottom right of the video.
For Closed Captioning in other languages, click on the settings icon (to the right of the CC icon) and choose “Subtitles/CC” to open up the next menu. Choose “Auto-Translate” and then pick the desired language from the list that opens. For additional guidance, please see the video below.

All of the author talks produced by the Library Speakers Consortium are live-streamed and can be attended through any device that connects to the internet.
